Our team is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you will help keep our assisted living community safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for residents, families, visitors, and team members. You will assist with routine repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and general upkeep throughout the building and grounds.

What You'll Do
- Complete routine maintenance and repair tasks throughout the community
- Assist with preventive maintenance for building systems and equipment
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work
- Troubleshoot maintenance concerns and determine appropriate next steps
- Inspect resident apartments, common areas, equipment, and building systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and team members
- Assist with apartment preparation, including repairs, painting, and minor improvements
- Replace light bulbs, fixtures, filters, hardware, and other building components
- Help maintain sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and outdoor spaces
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance storage areas
- Follow safety procedures and properly handle maintenance materials
- Maintain accurate records of completed repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance
- Report major repairs, hazards, or vendor needs to the supervisor
- Work cooperatively with outside contractors and community departments
- Assist with emergency maintenance needs as assigned
- Complete additional maintenance and community duties as needed
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, property management, or a related field is preferred
- General knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete routine repairs safely
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to interact respectfully with older adults, families, visitors, and coworkers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to read basic instructions, equipment manuals, and safety information
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, and work in different areas of the building
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to (lifting requirement) pounds
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening
