Brookhaven at Lexington, a prestigious private senior living community in Lexington, Massachusetts, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Food Production Manager to join our Dining Services leadership team. This full-time non-exempt position is responsible for overseeing food production planning, purchasing, inventory management, receiving, cost controls, food safety compliance, and operational systems that support our multiple dining venues and catering operations.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of food service management experience and a strong background in production management, proficient with food production software, inventory control, purchasing, and kitchen operations within high-volume hospitality, healthcare, senior living, hotel, or private club environments. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage systems, processes, and teams in a fast-paced setting.

Pay Range: $29 - $36 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily food production to support menus, catering, and special events.
- Forecast food and supply needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Oversee purchasing, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
- Monitor deliveries for accuracy, quality, temperature, and proper storage.
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure product rotation and freshness.
- Manage production and inventory systems.
- Maintain Food Safety
- Assist in creating, developing and implementing dining programs and concepts for all levels of care and across all day parts
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed
- Work with and communicate with all members of the Dining Service Department management to achieve a cohesive, productive team that produces a high-quality product and service level.
- Function as the Early, Middle or Closing Manager as scheduled and carry out responsibilities assigned to those functions.
- Oversee all aspects of Dining Service Food Production Software.
- Assist in all catering and special events as needed.
- Ensure the implementation of and maintain all required regulatory standards such as Serve-Safe, HAACP, and food allergen guidelines; instruct appropriate Dining Services staff.
- Comply with all Board of Health and sanitation vendors’ recommendations to ensure high quality of food safety and sanitation.
- Assist in maintaining inventory for all small wares, service ware and minor equipment
- Work with Dining Services Management Team on menu development to create recipes and menus that meet Brookhaven standards and financial targets. Work directly with Dietician to ensure all menus and recipes meet specified dietary needs across all levels of care and dining venues.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Service Management, culinary arts or equivalent.
- Current sanitation certification and allergen awareness.
- Must have training in performing the Heimlich Maneuver.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in role of food service management.
