Job Description:
The IT Team Lead provides project management direction, instruction and guidance for IT related projects, working in a multi-level continuum of care environment. Has extensive knowledge of clinical and/or operational workflows. Works closely with the business and IT Management to help identify user requirements to either utilize existing technology or develop and implement new technology.
Provide leadership to the project team, including objectively evaluating employee performance and competencies, by providing constructive feedback to the employee and IT Management.
Work with existing system analyst team to transfer ownership of application support through training and mentorship.
Acts as the Project Manager for HSL IT initiatives. Drives the Project Life Cycle from vendor selection until completion.
Leads the team in identifying and documenting user requirements, developing detailed interfaces schemas, planning for system conversions and recommending software solution options for new implementations as well as system optimizations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
Manages risk and quality assurance issues that arise during projects.
Works directly with software vendors on identified issues, upgrades and project escalations.
Serves as an escalation point between IT staff, IT Management and business owners within the context of the project.
Focuses on interdepartmental alignment and is comfortable in collaborating with management. Identifies skill gaps within the team and works with leadership to develop learning opportunities that support evolving technologies and industry practices.
Works independently, is a self-starter, and can easily collaborate with team members and business owners when necessary.
Plays a role in Fiscal Year and project budgeting.
Ability to manage through influence across the organization.
Other responsibilities as identified by the Senior Manager, IT Applications and Information Security.
Serves as a resource for complex issues and escalations.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience in business or technology related field.
Minimum 5 years project management experience and 8 years application support in a healthcare IT related environment.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Project Management Life Cycle.
Must possess critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Strong MS office Skill set.
Preferred:
Master’s degree preferred
Familiarity with customization, SWAT or Process Improvement
PMP or other project management certifications.
